mom and dad have been slowly taking a chicken shed down...they are always really great about being careful to save all sorts of goodies. wood with sweet lovely faded red paint, tin roof (rusted!), and a handful of other items...including the above items we came home with. i ask you, how in the blue blaze am i going to part with those long chicken feeders? i love them.
after the chicken shed...we headed to an abandoned house...and took to the house with reckless abandon. kitchen drawers, heater vent, door knobs, closet hooks, a random painting. and no, not the kitchen sink...but yes, the bathroom mirror.
happy birthday Jesus, and happy day to brent and me.

Perhaps you need some chickens. They would go nicely with your new chicken feeders!
ReplyDeleteLeah - are you sure that house was abandoned?
Funny, I came home today and My bathroom mirror was missing! Could it be . . . ?

For crying out loud, don't part with them! They're great! And so was the B 52 reference.
ReplyDeletePicking. We're interested! My brother turned me on to 'American Pickers' and we want to do it, too, pcking that is. Would love to meet you sometime, Leah. We live in Omaha. My husband and I are from Grand Island. My grandparents were from Elgin. He was the dentist there for nearly 40 years. We're probably older than you, by a few years, but we seem to have and for for the same 'territory' in common and abandoned houses and a vintage love for 'good' old stuff. We are Joyful Catholics since returning to the Church 7 years ago and love to visit all the beautiful Catholic churches across the plains. :) God bless you and Brent.
ReplyDeleteDOH! sorry about the typo above. guess my mind was going faster than my fingers. i meant we seem to 'have "a love" for the same territory in common...'
